Overview

Qatar Duty Free is seeking a Food and Beverage Supervisor to support the Management Team in ensuring smooth restaurant operations with an emphasis on exceptional service standards and enhanced customer experience. The venue comprises over 30 dining establishments within one of the world's largest duty-free complexes at Hamad International Airport in Doha.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead by example to uphold the highest grooming standards per the Company Dress Code and ensure the team complies similarly.
  • Maintain exemplary levels of hygiene and upkeep in designated areas following Food Safety, Health & Safety policies; report and track maintenance concerns.
  • Provide attentive guest engagement throughout visits, guaranteeing prompt and efficient service to uphold superior customer service.
  • Manage cash handling protocols and ensure team members are proficient with billing procedures to prevent discrepancies.
  • Possess comprehensive knowledge of the restaurant menu, educating the team to inform customers accurately about special offerings.
  • Identify opportunities to improve customer service and collaborate with Restaurant Management to strengthen brand image.
  • Evaluate service quality against business benchmarks alongside the line manager, compile customer feedback, and implement corrective measures.
  • Oversee daily staffing aligned with business volume to ensure efficient resourcing.
  • Monitor product quality and inventory availability daily, reporting any supply issues promptly.
  • Develop sales initiatives through upselling programs and incentives, aiding Management in meeting targets.
  • Track and verify daily wastage and breakage records for accuracy.

Qualifications & Experience

  • A minimum of High School education is required.
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in restaurant supervision.
  • Demonstrated effective management of restaurant operations.
  • Experience with HACCP or FSSC food safety standards is essential.
  • Proficiency in Micros or comparable POS software is mandatory.
  • Knowledge of stock management and wastage control.
  • Understanding of international food and beverage standards.
  • Competency in Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Familiarity with Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities coupled with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Preference for candidates with fine dining background.
  • Experience supervising teams of at least 10 staff members preferred.
