Overview
CREGG is recruiting an experienced and driven Financial Controller to join a client's expanding team located in Shannon, County Clare. This is a full-time position that requires presence onsite. The role is critical to managing financial reporting, cost analysis, and supporting business expansion in a design and manufacturing services setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the month-end closing process including journal entries, reconciliations, and preparation of management reporting packages.
- Oversee and reconcile essential financial components such as Fixed Assets, Prepayments, Accruals, Customer Deposits, and Net Wages.
- Supervise both Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable processes.
- Handle bank and credit card statement reconciliations on a monthly basis.
- Prepare weekly cash flow reports and forecasts to ensure accurate liquidity management.
- Manage revenue-related compliance and communications, including VAT and PREM areas.
- Generate routine and special financial reports and performance indicators as required.
- Direct weekly and monthly cash flow activities actively.
- Create and monitor cash flow planning, closely analysing variance against sales forecasts.
- Work collaboratively with the CEO on cash management and forecasting strategies.
- Implement and maintain strong financial controls and processes.
- Participate in ongoing improvements and system projects, notably ERP implementations.
Qualifications & Skills
- Hold at least a Level 8 degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Possess a professional accounting qualification.
- Have a minimum of 5 years’ accounting experience, preferably within design, engineering, or manufacturing industries.
- Solid grasp of both financial accounting and management accounting principles.
- Advanced IT and system skills, particularly in ERP system implementation and usage.
- Demonstrate ability to work autonomously, as well as in cross-functional teams.
- Exemplary attention to detail and accuracy in financial management.
