Job description

Role Overview

We are seeking a Field Service Technician proficient in the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of Reverse Osmosis (RO) plants and water treatment systems. This hands-on position involves addressing technical issues and performing preventive maintenance to ensure optimal system performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, commission, and service RO plants and water treatment equipment.
  • Conduct scheduled inspections and preventive upkeep of RO systems.
  • Diagnose and resolve problems linked to pressure imbalances, flow irregularities, TDS levels, membrane fouling/scaling, pump failures, leaks, dosing inaccuracies, and electrical/control panel malfunctions.
  • Maintain and replace critical components including membranes, cartridge filters, multimedia filters, activated carbon filters, pumps, valves, and dosing pumps.
  • Track essential operational parameters such as feed and product pressures, reject pressure, flow rates, TDS, pH, and conductivity.
  • Perform membrane cleaning and Chemical in Place (CIP) procedures when necessary.
  • Document service activities, equipment metrics, maintenance logs, and spare parts needs thoroughly.
  • Collaborate with Service Engineers and Project Teams for resolving technical challenges.
  • Provide customers and operators with basic guidance on plant operation and maintenance.
  • Travel to on-site customer locations for breakdown response and routine maintenance, adhering to safety protocols.

Required Skills and Knowledge

  • Fundamental understanding of RO plant functioning and upkeep.
  • Familiarity with pumps, pressure vessels, membranes, valves, filters, and dosing equipment.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical control panels and systems.
  • Ability to interpret basic Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID) and equipment layouts is advantageous.
  • Understanding of water quality metrics like TDS, pH, conductivity, hardness, and turbidity.
  • Competence in troubleshooting technical issues and applying problem-solving techniques.
  • Experience using tools and instruments pertinent to RO system servicing.
