Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Field Service Engineer II based in Abu Dhabi, UAE, to provide critical on-site support and maintenance of our genomic instrumentation. This role involves instrument installation, repair, operation support, and inventory management primarily at one main client location, with additional service calls as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver on-site equipment installation, troubleshooting, repair, and operational assistance for company instrumentation.
• Analyze customer-supplied technical reports and partner with technical staff to diagnose root causes, communicating timelines and solutions effectively to clients.
• Maintain detailed logs of hardware, software, consumables, and application configurations for each tool.
• Serve as the liaison between customers and research and development teams to cultivate productive relationships and assure confidence in company products.
• Consistently exceed expectations in providing service, technical support, and product knowledge.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to summarize customer issues and participate in root cause analyses.
• Perform additional duties as required to ensure customer satisfaction and equipment reliability.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in a scientific or engineering discipline.
• 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in field service or engineering roles, preferably within biotechnology or capital equipment sectors.
• Expertise in electro-mechanical assembly, instrumentation troubleshooting, and server installations.
• Proficiency interpreting technical schematics and documentation, including electrical, wiring, fluidic, and mechanical schematics.
• Ability to build prototypes based on preliminary designs and schematics.
• Self-motivated with the capability to work autonomously and collaboratively; strong interpersonal skills.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
• Fluent verbal and written English communication abilities.
• Willingness to operate in a fast-paced environment and contribute effectively to a multi-disciplinary team.
• Eligible and prepared for travel within UAE and internationally, including to the USA for training and meetings; valid driver’s license required. Expected travel is approximately 20% of work time.
