Farm Laborer

Role Overview

The Farm Laborer supports the day-to-day activities on the farm and landscaped grounds of The Club at Kukui'ula. Reporting to the Farm Foreperson and Farm Production Foreperson, this position involves diverse tasks involving farming, horticulture, landscaping, and general grounds maintenance to ensure all agricultural and ornamental areas remain vibrant, healthy, and visually pleasing. This entry-level role suits individuals keen on horticulture, farming, or landscaping and involves practical outdoor work.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Plant, transplant, and maintain garden beds and other planting areas.
• Mow turf and manage lawns using walk-behind mowers and related tools.
• Perform edging, weed control, trimming, and cleaning of landscaped areas.
• Apply fertilizers following safety guidelines and support pesticide application.
• Assist with irrigation systems including maintenance and minor repairs.
• Prune trees, shrubs, and various plants effectively.
• Operate powered landscape equipment such as line trimmers, edgers, and blowers safely.
• Utilize hand tools, hoses, planting materials, and wear appropriate personal protective gear.
• Conduct general farm and landscape upkeep as directed.
• Adhere strictly to company safety protocols and procedures.
• Work outdoors regardless of weather conditions, performing physically demanding tasks involving lifting, bending, kneeling, and walking extended periods.

Qualifications and Preferences

• High school diploma or an equivalent certification is preferred.
• Prior experience in farming, landscaping, groundskeeping, or horticulture is beneficial but not required.
• Basic understanding of plant care, horticulture, or propagation is advantageous.
• Experience working with landscape maintenance machinery is preferred.
• Competency in safely handling hand and power tools as well as landscape equipment.
• Team player with the ability to collaborate effectively.
• Strong focus on safety and compliance with work instructions.
• Motivation to learn new agricultural and landscaping methods.

Compensation

The hourly wage ranges from $20.40 to $24.00 USD.
