Job Summary

We seek a Fabric Merchandiser with 2 to 6 years' experience who demonstrates strong expertise in woven and knitted fabrics. The ideal candidate will efficiently handle customer inquiries, source appropriate fabrics, lead product development initiatives, coordinate with suppliers, and manage order fulfillment from initial enquiry to final delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Address and understand fabric requirements communicated by customers.
• Source materials directly from mills, manufacturers, and suppliers.
• Drive the development of innovative fabric options tailored to customer specifications.
• Manage coordination of sampling processes, including lab dips, strike-offs, and approvals.
• Prepare detailed quotations and cost estimations.
• Negotiate price points, lead times, and delivery schedules with suppliers to meet business needs.
• Monitor order progress to ensure timely execution and dispatch.
• Collaborate with suppliers, processors, transporters, and customers to smooth workflow.
• Address and resolve issues relating to quality and delivery promptly.
• Maintain comprehensive records of enquiries, quotations, orders, and supplier details.
• Stay informed about emerging fabric technologies and market trends to keep offerings current.

Requirements and Skills

• In-depth understanding of both woven and knitted fabric types.
• Familiarity with dyeing, printing processes, finishing techniques, GSM, fabric construction, and quality control standards.
• Strong verbal and written communication and negotiation capabilities.
• Excellent follow-up skills with effective coordination among multiple stakeholders.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and professional email correspondence.
• Capability to work autonomously while managing multiple orders simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications

• Graduate or diploma holder in Textile Technology, Textile Engineering, Fashion Technology, or a related discipline.
• Two to six years of relevant experience in fabric merchandising, textile trading, sourcing, or within garment export or buying houses or textile manufacturing sectors.
