Lancom, a company within Lyra’s portfolio, is seeking an experienced AWS Cloud Engineer or Pod Lead to join their Auckland-based team. This role focuses on delivering secure, scalable, and high-performance AWS cloud solutions. Senior candidates may also be responsible for mentoring and guiding cloud engineers, supporting team growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct the design, deployment, and enhancement of AWS cloud environments.
• Offer expert technical support for cloud infrastructure, migrations, and modernisation efforts.
• Serve as a point of escalation for cloud-related incidents and technical issues.
• Advocate Infrastructure as Code practices using tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation, emphasizing automation-first strategies.
• Lead initiatives to improve cloud security, resilience, scalability, and cost efficiency.
• Establish and maintain trusted relationships with clients while providing expert technical advice.
• Engage in service reviews, strategic planning, and continuous improvement activities.
• Help develop reusable frameworks, standards, and best practices for cloud operations.

Required Skills and Experience

• Demonstrated experience with AWS cloud services covering compute, networking, storage, security, and identity management.
• Proven ability to design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure within live environments.
• Experience in cloud migration and transformation projects is essential.
• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform and/or CloudFormation.
• Strong scripting and automation skills using PowerShell, Python, or related languages.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting capabilities.
• Superior communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

• Previous leadership experience is beneficial but not mandatory; senior engineers aspiring to leadership are encouraged to apply.
