Company Overview

A reputable developer-builder located on the Sunshine Coast, known for creating high-quality residential units that exceed market demand, achieving pre-sales rapidly. The company has a solid and ongoing project pipeline across South East Queensland and is recognized for delivering landmark projects valued over $100 million.

Role Summary

Reporting to the Estimating Manager, this role involves preparing and reviewing budgetary estimates primarily for finishing trades. Candidates with intermediate experience will receive support to develop skills further, aiming for growth to a senior estimator position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute take-offs and develop budget estimates focusing on finishing trades initially.
  • Conduct elemental and trade package breakdowns and reviews.
  • Aggregate and analyze subcontractor pricing to establish benchmarks.
  • Perform value management pricing assessments.
  • Generate detailed measurements relating to finishing trades.
  • Price purchaser upgrades and variations accordingly.
  • Prepare trade budgets for construction team handover.
  • Source and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing documentation.
  • Build and sustain strong relationships with trade subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Collaborate effectively with project stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Maintain and update project-specific area analysis data accurately.

Candidate Requirements

  • Proven experience estimating commercial construction projects with duties related to the responsibilities listed above.
  • Qualifications may include trade certifications or Quantity Surveying credentials.
  • Strong time management capabilities and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills and collaborative work approach.
  • Familiarity with CostX software is highly desired.
