Entry-Level Data Analyst (Part-Time)

Role Overview

This part-time position with Portugal AVC - União de Sobreviventes, Familiares e Amigos is centered in Sydney, NSW, with options for some remote work. The Data Analyst will gather, cleanse, and organize data from both internal and external sources to aid stroke-related programs, advocacy efforts, and community projects. Core duties include generating basic reports and dashboards, performing descriptive statistical analysis, and producing clear, concise summaries for internal teams and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Validate and ensure data quality for accuracy and reliability.
• Support basic data modeling and conduct simple statistical analyses.
• Collaborate with program staff to identify and address informational requirements.
• Document methodologies and maintain well-organized datasets.
• Contribute to ongoing enhancement of data management processes within a non-profit setting.

Qualifications and Skills

• Strong analytical abilities, capable of interpreting data and uncovering meaningful patterns to inform decisions.
• Foundational knowledge or education in data analytics and modeling, comfortable using spreadsheets and basic business intelligence tools.
• Basic understanding of statistics, such as descriptive statistics and simple hypothesis testing, with a curiosity to expand this knowledge.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills to present data insights to individuals without a technical background.
• Relevant academic background or practical experience in data science, mathematics, economics, public health, or a related field.
• Adaptability to working in a hybrid setup in Sydney and engagement with multidisciplinary teams within community-focused or non-profit environments.
• Meticulous attention to detail, ethical data handling practices, and a dedication to supporting stroke survivors, their families, and caregivers.
• Experience using tools like Excel, Google Sheets, and introductory-level database or visualization platforms such as Power BI or Tableau is beneficial.
