Overview
The Electrical Technician will be responsible for analyzing technical specifications, schematics, and automation documentation, developing protection diagrams, validating transformer applications, and ensuring smooth system integration. The position requires evaluating vendor proposals and tenders, engaging with clients, conducting factory acceptance testing, and supporting sales and margin improvements through streamlined engineering processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough reviews of project specifications to ensure compliance with client demands and technical guidelines.
- Examine control and protection schematic drawings from partner organizations to verify precision and operational adequacy.
- Analyze System Automation Schematics (SAS) including Functional Design Specifications, Architecture layouts, General Technical Provisions, and Bill of Quantities.
- Assess primary and secondary substation switchgear and equipment schematics, ensuring proper coordination with protection diagrams.
- Create Single Line Diagrams for protection systems adhering to client requirements.
- Perform application assessments and calculations for Current Transformers (CT), Capacitor Voltage Transformers (CVT), and Potential Transformers (PT) related to relay protection functionalities.
- Develop and review cable philosophy documentation and interconnection schedules to guarantee integration efficiency.
- Evaluate tender and vendor proposals concerning Control & Relay (C&R) panels for technical compatibility and cost-effectiveness.
- Collaborate with clients for engineering drawing approvals and documentation sanctioning.
- Support sales objectives and enhance profit margins through engineering optimization efforts.
- Lead Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) for electrical equipment including transformers and various types of voltage/current transformers to confirm quality and performance standards.
Candidate Profile
- Holds a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Possesses over five years’ experience specializing in electrical engineering with emphasis on protection systems and substation design.
- Skilled in review of technical control and protection schematics and related documentation.
- Familiar with SAS systems and transformer applications including CT, CVT, PT, along with relay protection operations.
- Demonstrates meticulous attention to detail and strong problem-solving capabilities.
- Experienced in client communication and securing document approvals.
- Knowledgeable about factory acceptance testing procedures and analyzing vendor quotations.
- Capable of collaborative teamwork and proficient in meeting project deadlines.
