Electrical Technician

Main Mission

The Electrical Technician is responsible for keeping line equipment in top working order through proactive inspection, adjustment, and repair. The role supports maintenance targets by improving line efficiency, increasing equipment availability, and reducing losses and operational risk.

Key Activities

• Prepare equipment and spare-part requisitions so the stores team has clear records of parts and materials consumed.
• Plan and carry out job cards, including adjustments, inspections, and repairs, to help avoid breakdowns and keep equipment performing optimally.
• Assess, troubleshoot, and fix equipment failures to improve production flow, increase line efficiency, and reduce downtime and costs.
• Fabricate required parts where needed to prevent repeated failures, maximize line uptime, and control maintenance costs.
• Lead maintenance and modification projects with the aim of reducing safety risks, upgrading equipment to current technology, and improving productivity and output.
• Train and support team members so they can safely operate machines, perform maintenance in their process area, and handle minor breakdowns.
• Follow safety rules and procedures in line with occupational health and safety requirements to maintain a safe and orderly workplace.
• Help start up the line with the relevant team members so production begins smoothly and efficiently.
• Coordinate, assign, and monitor work tasks with the team to ensure activities are agreed upon and completed effectively.
• Continuously build personal capability to meet career objectives and improve both individual and team performance and productivity.

Qualifications and Experience

The role requires a qualified Artisan/Technician in Electrical discipline, with at least 2 years of relevant technical experience in an FMCG environment. Candidates should have experience as an Electrical Artisan, including PLC exposure, and hold an HND or degree with Electrical Trade Test certification.

Technical Competencies

• Strong understanding of technical engineering principles
• Working knowledge of PLC systems and concepts
• Understanding of bottling operations and production processes
• Knowledge of SHE practices, principles, and procedures
