About the Opportunity
Launch your career as an Electrical Apprentice with King & Moffatt, a prominent building services company in Ireland. This role offers an excellent path to earning while learning, engaging in significant projects, and developing a durable career in electrical engineering. Apprentices receive hands-on training with experienced experts and international exposure, all culminating in a QQI Level 6 Advanced Certificate in Electrical Craft.
Key Responsibilities
As an apprentice, you will participate in real-world projects across varied sectors including manufacturing, industrial facilities, food and pharmaceutical plants, data centers, logistics hubs, as well as commercial and energy-related ventures. The position involves alternating between onsite practical work and formal training sessions, enhancing your trade skills and industry knowledge continuously. Compliance with all Environmental, Health, Safety, and Quality (EHSQ) policies is mandatory.
Apprenticeship Details
- This is a 4-year SOLAS-managed Electrical Apprenticeship featuring paid on-the-job experience combined with formal off-the-job education.
- Training includes a 2-week induction at the Carrick-on-Shannon Training Centre.
- Apprentices will have the chance to gain international experience through short-term assignments (approximately 3 months) in the UK or Germany.
Candidate Requirements
- Completion of the Leaving Certificate, with Maths and/or Physics considered advantageous.
- A sincere interest in the electrical engineering field.
- Strong communication and problem-solving capabilities.
- Teamwork skills and readiness to coordinate with others.
- Willingness to travel and work away from home as necessary.
- Possession of a full driving license or actively pursuing one.
- Safe Pass and Manual Handling certification or readiness to obtain them.
Additional Information
Applicants must have legal authorization to work in Ireland. The initial two-week induction will take place at the company’s training center in Carrick-on-Shannon, after which apprentices will be assigned to various project sites nationally.
