Role overview

Talbot Hotel Clonmel, part of the Talbot Collection, is seeking a dependable and seasoned Duty Manager to join its team. This role suits someone who enjoys juggling multiple priorities, gaining exposure across all areas of hotel operations, and delivering strong customer care while developing within a growing business.

Key duties

• Support the Hotel Manager in keeping day-to-day hotel operations running smoothly and efficiently across all departments, including food and beverage, reception, accommodation, and kitchen.
• Make sure bar and restaurant service stays efficient at all times, especially during busy periods.
• Help ensure every guest receives consistently friendly and high-quality service from the team.
• Handle guest questions quickly, professionally, and proactively.
• Deal with complaints effectively and promptly, aiming to turn difficult situations into positive guest experiences whenever possible.
• Complete all security checks and departmental checklists as required.
• Keep the safety and wellbeing of guests and staff as a priority while on duty.
• Step into other departments whenever support is needed.
• Take on additional ad hoc tasks assigned by management.

Candidate profile

• You should bring at least 2 years of experience as a Duty Manager in a 4-star hotel.
• You should also have at least 3 years of food and beverage experience in a 4-star hotel.
• A third-level qualification in hotel management or a related field would be an advantage.
• A strong focus on guest satisfaction is essential.
• You should work well in a team and communicate clearly and confidently with others.
• Flexibility is required, including availability for evenings and weekends.
• Strong spoken and written English is required.
