Dump Truck Driver

Overview

We are looking for an experienced Dump Truck Driver to join our team at Ruel Concrete Ltd. in Slave Lake, Alberta. This is an on-site position requiring willing relocation at your own cost.

Languages and Education

Proficiency in English is required. No formal degree, certificate, or diploma is necessary.

Experience

Candidates should have between one and two years of relevant driving experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Load and unload materials efficiently and safely.
• Conduct thorough inspections of the vehicle including tires, lights, brakes, and cold storage equipment.
• Perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip vehicle inspections and oversee all vehicle operational aspects.
• Carry out preventive maintenance to ensure vehicle reliability.
• Maintain detailed records covering cargo details, hours of driving service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption.
• Ensure cargo safety and security by proper tarping and related procedures.

Required Credentials and Certifications

• Class 1, 1F, or A driver's license suitable for semi-trailer trucks.
• Air Brakes Endorsement.
• First Aid Certificate.
• Hydrogen Sulphide Awareness (H2S) Certification.

Expertise and Specializations

• Knowledge of accident or incident reporting.
• Familiarity with bill of lading documentation and driver logbooks.
• Experience with inspection reports and maintenance/repair documentation.
• Operation of dump trucks, tractor-trailers, and tractor-trailer B trains.
• Use of communication systems including Citizen Band (CB) radio and GPS navigation devices.
• Experience with both local and provincial/territorial transportation routes.

• A valid driver's license is mandatory.
• Applicants must provide their own cellular phone, hard hat, and steel-toed safety boots.
