Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and grade donated items thoroughly for resale in retail stores
  • Process donations quickly to achieve production targets while following standard procedures
  • Maintain a courteous and professional demeanor with all guests, prioritizing a people-first approach
  • Provide donation receipts to donors
  • Address guest inquiries and resolve issues per agency and departmental policies
  • Sort donations into appropriate categories accurately
  • Communicate effectively with management when needed
  • Follow training guidelines, e-learning modules, and work instructions consistently
  • Make sound decisions to advance operational efficiency
  • Collaborate cooperatively with team members and foster a positive workplace culture
  • Keep the donor area and donation center clean and orderly
  • Observe safety and security guidelines, reporting hazards or injuries promptly
  • Assist drivers with loading and unloading donation trucks
  • Attend all mandated training sessions and meetings
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • At least one year of production experience preferred
  • Commitment to fostering a welcoming team environment focused on exceptional guest service
  • Basic math and reading proficiency
  • Good English communication skills, both oral and written, along with strong interpersonal capabilities
  • Must be at least 18 years old to be certified to operate forklifts; individuals aged 16–17 are not eligible to operate forklifts, balers, or compactors

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

  • Employees must wear approved safety work shoes starting employment
  • Work may involve exposure to varying temperatures, including heat, cold, and dusty conditions
  • Physical demands include bending, reaching, grasping, standing, and walking for extended periods, plus pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 30 pounds with or without accommodations
