Position Overview
In the role of Director Global Logistics, you will oversee the entire logistics function for the RENK Group, leading a global organization of over 150 managers and employees stationed across various RENK company locations. You will act as a pivotal contact and mentor to the global logistics team and collaborate closely with the Chief Supply Chain Officer and the Operations team.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct and nurture the global logistics organization, ensuring high performance and development.
- Manage and steer the end-to-end logistics and supply chain strategy, guiding its group-wide implementation within a matrix organizational structure.
- Plan strategically and align all logistics operations including inbound, outbound, intercompany shipments, intralogistics, and warehouse management.
- Devise and implement the global supply chain and logistics strategy in harmony with corporate goals and the growth demands of business divisions.
- Identify areas for improvement, establish, and execute logistics frameworks and processes for both series production and project environments.
- Lead strategic and transformation-driven logistics and supply chain projects while actively contributing to group-wide performance and supply chain initiatives.
- Coordinate information and material flows, system integration, digital transformation, and harmonization of processes, interfaces both internal and external at a global level.
- Develop, manage, and refine logistics and supply chain KPIs and performance indicators.
- Provide regular reporting to supply chain management leadership and division COOs.
- Lead budgeting and investment planning for logistics and warehouse operations.
- Develop key performance metrics to assess and control logistics processes and service providers, establishing quality and performance management for continuous cost efficiency and process enhancement.
- Optimize inventory levels.
- Ensure compliance with legal requirements, environmental regulations, and safety standards in supply chain processes to maintain seamless goods flow.
- Guarantee adherence to customs and foreign trade laws, monitoring changes and internal application.
- Implement logistics policies, standards, and process documentation within the scope of global governance responsibilities.
- Introduce and manage sustainability initiatives and ESG practices across the worldwide supply chain organizational structure.
Candidate Profile
- Completed technical or commercial university degree focusing on logistics or supply chain management.
- 8 to 10 years of progressive experience in a similar senior logistics role within a large, internationally active corporate group, preferably in machinery engineering or automotive sectors.
- Robust technical and commercial expertise with a solid understanding of logistics processes in series production and project-oriented business.
- Strong analytical, structured, and conceptual capabilities, coupled with quick learning aptitude and independent working style.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with high initiative, strategic foresight, and strong implementation focus.
- Excellent project management skills to oversee multiple initiatives simultaneously within a global matrix organization.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
- Fluent in German and English, both spoken and written.
