About the Company

They aggregate massive volumes of data stored in custom-built, high-speed, distributed time series databases. Their offerings include APIs, WebSocket data streams, SDKs, and spreadsheet add-ons tailored for end users.
Role Overview
We seek a DevOps Engineer experienced in developing and operating distributed, high-load systems. You will tackle challenges presented by managing data generated across thousands of servers and managing hundreds of terabytes, ensuring both high reliability and scalability of services.
Core Responsibilities
- Maintain and improve service availability, security, and reliability.
- Identify system weaknesses and implement solutions, including developing comprehensive documentation and capacity planning.
- Develop tooling and components to streamline operational workflows.
- Contribute to the design and creation of new distributed systems.
- Administer Linux servers and potentially expand into additional system administration roles as desired.
Required Qualifications
- A degree in a relevant technical field such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or Management Science & Engineering.
- Proficiency in one or more high-level programming languages, specifically C++ or Python.
- Hands-on experience with Unix-like operating systems and virtualization technologies, accompanied by a solid understanding of TCP/IP networking.
- Strong grasp of classical algorithms and data structures.
- Experience designing, developing, and operating high-load distributed systems.
