DevOps Engineer

Overview

The Senior DevOps Engineer will be instrumental in crafting, deploying, and maintaining enterprise-level DevSecOps platforms, continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, deployment automation systems, and the delivery of cloud-native applications. This role emphasizes supporting multiple development teams to facilitate secure, dependable, and scalable software deployment across diverse application portfolios and environments.

Primary Responsibilities

• Design, construct, and sustain CI/CD pipelines that enhance application delivery processes.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and deployment automation to optimize environment provisioning.
• Manage and support enterprise DevOps tools and platforms, ensuring reusable deployment templates and shared components are maintained.
• Oversight of application releases for development, testing, staging, and production stages, with a focus on automating deployments and rollback capabilities.
• Troubleshoot deployment-related challenges and coordinate production implementations effectively.
• Support change and release management procedures to uphold operational integrity.
• Maintain containerized application deployment pipelines and support platforms such as Kubernetes and Red Hat OpenShift.
• Administer application configurations, secrets, and deployment artifacts securely.
• Integrate security measures within CI/CD workflows, promoting shift-left security interventions and assisting in resolving vulnerabilities found.
• Develop scripting and automation tools to minimize manual efforts, standardize workflows, and boost deployment consistency and auditability.
• Collaborate extensively with cross-functional teams including developers, testers, security experts, infrastructure, and operations.
• Provide expert guidance on DevOps best practices, support incident response, and lead knowledge-sharing initiatives.

Technical Expertise

• Proficient with GitLab CI/CD, source code management, and release administration tools like Jira and Confluence.
• Skilled in Kubernetes and OpenShift container orchestration platforms.
• Experience with AWS cloud services, including EC2, Security Groups, and S3 storage.
• Strong automation abilities using Shell scripting, Python, Ansible, and Terraform.
• Knowledge of code quality and security tools such as SonarQube and Nexus Repository/IQ with established DevSecOps practices.
• Competent in incident handling, production deployment support, operational readiness, and root cause analysis.
