Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer on a contract basis to design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and infrastructure for a global software and data analytics company. This remote position supports data-driven decision-making by ensuring data accessibility, quality, and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

Create, optimize, and manage data pipelines that extract, transform, and load data from multiple sources into designated systems.
Develop and operate ETL or ELT workflows to enable data warehousing and analytics initiatives.
Maintain the integrity, consistency, and security of data assets across platforms.
Monitor pipeline performance, troubleshoot issues, and apply enhancements to improve efficiency and reliability.
Work collaboratively with data scientists, analysts, and other teams to meet their data requirements with high-quality solutions.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Proficiency in SQL and programming languages such as Python or Scala for data engineering tasks.
Experience with data pipeline and workflow orchestration tools like Apache Airflow, Apache Spark, or equivalents.
Familiarity with major cloud service providers (AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Azure) and their data-related offerings.
Understanding of data modeling principles, data warehousing architecture, and schema design methodologies.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, capable of thriving in a dynamic and collaborative environment.
