Overview
Tesla is seeking motivated and adaptable individuals to join its data collection team supporting the Optimus project. This role involves gathering data, assisting engineering functions, and providing feedback on equipment performance in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Candidates should have enthusiasm for robotics and aim to enhance both personal and team productivity through process improvements.
Work Schedule
The standard schedule is Sunday through Thursday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct data collection activities, including manipulating objects, walking assigned routes, and following established testing protocols at Tesla locations and public areas.
- Operate motion capture devices while performing required movements tailored to project needs.
- Manage recording equipment by starting/stopping sessions and performing minor troubleshooting on hardware and software.
- Provide consistent feedback on equipment functionality.
- Analyze collected data and compile detailed reports on observations and any issues encountered.
- Ensure data upload processes are accurate and timely.
- Maintain the safety and operational integrity of equipment, adhere to safety guidelines, and communicate promptly with supervisors.
Candidate Qualifications
- Physical endurance to walk for more than 7 hours daily while carrying up to 30 pounds of equipment.
- Height requirement between 5 feet 7 inches and 6 feet to effectively use motion capture apparatus.
- Strong hand-eye coordination, fine motor skills, balance, kinesthetic awareness, and ability to navigate stairs.
- High attention to detail and ability to precisely follow instructions.
- Basic computer skills for data reporting and uploads.
- Technical aptitude for equipment troubleshooting and quick learning capability for new technologies.
- Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends and overtime, with minimal supervision.
- Capacity to travel up to 25% of the time and conduct daily regional driving.
Compensation and Benefits
Hourly pay ranges from $23.99 to $32.77, supplemented by cash and stock awards along with comprehensive benefits effective from the first day of employment.
