About the Organization

The National Treasury Management Agency (NTMA) offers vital asset and liability management services to the government, including managing national debt, strategic investment funds, and risk claims functions under the State Claims Agency (SCA). The SCA manages claims related to personal injury and property damage risks involving various State authorities and aims to reduce litigation costs through targeted risk programs.

Role Overview

This permanent Data Analyst role based in Dublin, Ireland, is within the Data Services Unit of the State Claims Agency. The analyst will contribute to predictive modelling and analytics initiatives that support claims and risk management across more than 250 state bodies. The role involves working closely with a small team and collaborating with other departments to develop data-driven insights aligned with the SCA’s principal objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Explore and integrate publicly available data sources to complement internal datasets and enhance predictive models supporting the SCA’s goals.
• Drive ongoing improvements in tools, processes, and documentation while collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve strategic objectives.
• Engage with diverse stakeholders to gather requirements and communicate analytics outcomes effectively.
• Leverage NIMS data innovatively to support SCA functions and offer actionable business insights.
• Perform detailed statistical analysis on complex qualitative and quantitative datasets to assist in risk and claims management.
• Support senior analysts and contribute to additional activities as needed.

Qualifications and Experience

• Degree or master’s in analytics, statistics, mathematics, engineering, IT, or related fields.
• At least three years’ experience delivering analytics and reporting solutions such as BI dashboards and statistical reports.
• Proficiency in statistics, predictive modelling, and relevant programming languages, especially R and Python.
• Experience with Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, or similar analytics platforms is advantageous.
• Demonstrated ability to work with stakeholders to translate business needs into predictive modelling requirements.
• Experience managing change impacts related to data management activities.
