Role overview
BRMi is hiring a Data Analyst to work closely with business partners and fellow analysts to identify data needs, define requirements, and support data gathering, processing, and cleanup. The position contributes data inputs to data science and business intelligence efforts and involves analyzing large datasets to help meet team and organization goals. The work typically involves solving mostly routine issues, with some tasks carrying broader scope and added complexity.
Location and work setup
This is a hybrid position available in Vienna, VA, Pensacola, FL, or Winchester, VA.
Compensation
Estimated salary range: $85,000 to $120,000 annually.

Responsibilities
- Help define technical data requirements, including data definitions, business rules, and quality standards, and support user acceptance testing along with accuracy, integrity, and validation reviews.
- Carry out data audits and analysis to meet reporting and delivery obligations.
- Gather and assemble datasets using different tools to support measurement, forecasting, and improvement of business-to-business results.
- Record processes for data collection, cleaning, and governance so documentation remains clear, repeatable, and aligned with governance expectations.
- Prepare and organize raw data, then produce descriptive statistics for business intelligence and data science work.
- Work with senior team members to present findings and insights to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with teammates on shared projects and initiatives.
- Support smaller analytics efforts by researching data and writing queries.
- Handle additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 2 to 5 years of experience in data analysis and reporting.
- Working knowledge of business operations and the surrounding operating environment.
- Ability to use data manipulation and scripting tools such as SQL, Python, or R, along with advanced data cleaning and preprocessing methods.
- Strong analytical ability for working with data and preparing it for use.
- Capability to interpret, extrapolate, and interpolate data for statistical research and modeling.
- Understanding of data structures and experience extracting data using visualization tools such as Power BI and Excel.
- Knowledge of data governance principles and practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related quantitative field.
- This role is open only to W2 candidates.
