Data Analyst

About the Role

This opportunity is a fixed-term contract of 18 months with a highly respected global organisation located in St Andrews. As a Reporting & Insights Analyst reporting into the Technology department, you will have significant influence on how data insights drive the business forward. Initially, the position is primarily office-based transitioning into a hybrid schedule with some remote working days after settling in.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop dashboards relied on by senior leadership for decision-making.
• Collaborate directly with stakeholders to ensure accurate and relevant reporting.
• Integrate data from Databricks and other cloud platforms into dependable pipelines.
• Identify trends and highlight important insights proactively.
• Work closely with data engineering teams to maintain cohesive data ecosystems.
• Manage report access and security, including implementing row-level permissions.
• Establish documentation and standards to ensure consistent reporting quality.
• Identify deficiencies and advocate for improved data quality at source systems.

Candidate Requirements

• Proven practical experience building with Power BI beyond simple report consumption.
• Familiarity with Databricks or equivalent cloud data platforms such as Azure Synapse or Snowflake.
• Strong proficiency in SQL querying and data manipulation.
• Good understanding of data modelling and optimizing dashboard performance.
• Confidence in communicating insights effectively to diverse audiences.
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic, agile work environment.
