Job description

The Curriculum Architect will be responsible for designing the program’s structure, progression, and academic rationale, ensuring the curriculum stands up to rigorous academic scrutiny.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and architect the full curriculum, including scope, sequence, and progression across school phases from lower secondary to school-leaving age.
- Define learning outcomes detailing what students should know and demonstrate at each stage, ensuring cumulative capability growth year-on-year.
- Ensure the curriculum delivers academic rigor aligned with age-appropriate content.
- Produce high-quality curriculum documentation capable of passing external regulatory and academic evaluation.
- Collaborate across functions with teams responsible for assessment, teacher training, and delivery to ensure the curriculum is practical and effective in real classroom settings.
Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience in authoring a curriculum (scope, sequence, progression, outcomes), rather than just administration or delivery.
- Strong subject mastery in computing or artificial intelligence, able to critically evaluate lesson content accuracy.
- Expertise in K-12 pedagogy; understanding of cognitive capabilities and academic expectations for ages 12 to 17.
- Experience evidencing curriculum compliance and accreditation with external examining bodies or education authorities.
- Postgraduate degree in a relevant discipline or an equivalent portfolio of authored academic work.
- Willingness to live and work onsite in Doha during the curriculum’s implementation phase.
Desirable Qualifications
- Proficiency in Arabic.
- Experience developing curricula in multiple languages.
- Past work experience within the Gulf or wider Middle East educational systems.
- Published research or peer-reviewed contributions in computing or AI education.
- Involvement with robotics, physical computing, or project-based learning initiatives in schools.
- Classroom teaching experience is advantageous but not essential.
Additional Information
This position explicitly excludes roles centered on corporate L&D, professional training design, LMS management, ed-tech platform ownership, project management without curriculum authorship, editorial work without computing subject expertise, or AI roles without K-12 curriculum experience.
Application Instructions
Applicants must submit the following materials together (applications lacking any component will not be reviewed):
- A detailed CV.
- An original curriculum artifact personally authored (such as a scope and sequence, unit map, or progression framework), with sensitive information redacted.
- A one-page original note outlining how to introduce and sequence AI across the secondary school years, including the proposed first topics to teach.
Preference will be given to candidates currently residing in Qatar, although relocation is possible for exceptional applicants.
