Role Overview
The Coordinator will assist the Director and Manager of Student Programs and Legal Recruitment in managing day-to-day activities related to student programs. Responsibilities include executing key operations, maintaining program data and materials, and ensuring timely, high-quality support across employment relations, recruitment, development, events, and projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee student program operations, manage key activities, track deliverables, identify operational challenges, and offer recommendations aligned with department and firm goals.
- Manage comprehensive employment relations processes for students, such as onboarding, offboarding, licensing, performance management, secondments, and life event support, escalating complex issues as necessary.
- Coordinate student rotation schedules and planning.
- Support recruitment efforts for student programs by assisting in recruitment events, maintaining accurate records of candidates and firm data, and contributing to talent acquisition initiatives.
- Keep templates, precedents, protocols, and checklists current and accurate.
- Provide assistance on new projects as needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources or a related field.
- Minimum of one year coordination experience in a professional services environment, preferably within a law firm.
- Completion or progress towards CHRP/CHRL designation is an asset.
- Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience will be considered.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong collaboration, communication, and interpersonal skills conducive to thriving in a team setting.
- Highly developed organizational abilities, keen attention to detail, effective time management, and capability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Client-focused with a professional and approachable demeanor.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, viDesktop, UKG software, and artificial intelligence tools.
Compensation & Work Arrangements
The expected salary range for this role is from $55,000 to $65,000 annually, with compensation determined by experience, skills, education, and job knowledge. The firm follows a hybrid work model requiring primarily in-office presence with up to two days per week remote flexibility.
