Job Summary
We are looking for a Cook (m/f/d) for our event and catering management team to work 30 hours per week on a permanent basis at our Hamburg-Horn location. Employment conditions are according to the Collective Agreement for Public Service (TV-L). Immediate start is possible.
Primary Duties
- Mainly work in our café-restaurant "Alte Bäckerei".
- Innovate and enhance the culinary offerings with creativity and quality in mind.
- Preparation of breakfast, starters, main courses, and desserts.
- Planning and executing buffet arrangements.
- Support catering and event service activities.
- Prepare and coordinate conference catering.
- Assist with ordering supplies.
- Help ensure smooth operation of kitchen processes.
- Strictly adhere to quality and hygiene standards.
- Handle cashier duties, dishwashing, and cleaning tasks as necessary.
Candidate Profile
- Completed formal training as a cook.
- Initial work experience in kitchen settings.
- Open, respectful, and appreciative attitude towards all guests.
- Strong teamwork skills.
- Willingness to continue professional development and engage in further training.
- Work schedule primarily Monday to Friday, from 6:30 AM to 1:00 PM, with occasional requirements for special event participation.
- Proficient in German language, both spoken and written.

Work Environment
The catering and event management team is responsible for the nourishment of residents at the Haus Weinberg care home, students at the Wichern School, as well as clients and visitors of the "Alte Bäckerei" café-restaurant. The team currently consists of 19 members. Our kitchen is located in a scenic park area easily accessible via the U2 subway line. Working hours are mainly weekdays from 06:30 to 13:00 according to duty rosters. The position is permanent and offers an interesting and diverse set of responsibilities.
