Role Summary
Based in Darwin, this key position oversees procurement and contract administration for the Darwin Civic Centre Project. The role involves ensuring all contractual responsibilities are fulfilled, financial risks are managed, and procurement strategies align tightly with project objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the entire contract process, from tendering, award, execution, through to closure.
- Provide expert guidance on contract terms, claims, variations, and compliance matters.
- Administer main contracts and subcontracts, ensuring all obligations are honored.
- Develop contract management systems to track deliverables, compliance, and overall performance.
- Formulate and implement procurement strategies that support project timelines, budgets, and goals.
- Oversee subcontractor procurement, including tender documentation, evaluation, negotiation, and awarding contracts.
- Lead cost management efforts by reviewing forecasts, budgets, and commercial outputs.
- Handle variations, progress claims, final accounts, and relevant contractual documents.
- Identify and mitigate risks related to contracts, commercial issues, and subcontractors.
- Resolve contractual disputes in collaboration with key stakeholders.
- Prepare and assess commercial reports, procurement updates, and performance data.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external parties to ensure adherence to project delivery, cost control, quality standards, and compliance.
- Track project milestones and key commercial objectives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with project personnel, consultants, suppliers, subcontractors, and stakeholders.
- Promote a culture emphasizing accountability, collaboration, professionalism, and continuous improvement while upholding company ethics.
Candidate Profile
- Formal qualification in Construction, Engineering, or related discipline.
- At least five years of senior-level contracts management experience within the construction industry.
- Proven expertise in contract negotiation, administration, procurement, risk management, and cost control.
- Strong background in managing commercial risks, resolving disputes, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience delivering high-value projects.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving aptitude.
- Competent in stakeholder management, fostering effective working relationships.
- Proficiency in JobPac, Microsoft Office suite, and project management software tools.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills capable of managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
