Consignment Director - Timepieces

About the Role

Heritage Auctions, the leading collectibles auction company, is looking for a seasoned expert in vintage and modern timepieces to join their Beverly Hills team. This role focuses on securing consignments of fine timepieces, including antique pocket watches, vintage wristwatches, and luxury modern watches, while representing the company's esteemed reputation and values.

Responsibilities

• Identify and obtain quality consignments from private collectors, trade dealers, and retailers.
• Authenticate timepiece properties and assess their condition for accurate valuation.
• Negotiate terms with consignors in line with company policies.
• Prepare and review catalog descriptions and promotional materials meticulously.
• Promote consignments to valued clients to maximize exposure.
• Audit settlements and wire transfers related to consignments.
• Participate in trade shows and conventions to secure consignments and build strategic relationships.
• Support the processing of incoming consignments and ensure paperwork accuracy.
• Proactively address pending consignor requests and resolve outstanding matters.
• Assist with gallery previews both onsite and offsite.
• Perform additional duties as directed by the Operations Manager.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years experience in timepieces within a major auction house or as a watch dealer.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Excellent multitasking abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
• Positive demeanor paired with outstanding customer service skills.
• Public speaking skills are advantageous.

Work Environment and Additional Information

The position is based at 9420 Wilshire Blvd. #100, Beverly Hills, CA 90212. Candidates must thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting.

Compensation and Benefits

• Annual salary ranging from $75,000 to $125,000, commensurate with experience.
