Job description

About Us

The Rural Youth and Adult Literacy Trust offers free literacy coaching to rural and isolated New Zealand adults and teens who missed acquiring reading and writing skills during school. Our volunteers provide remote tutoring through platforms like Zoom, Google Meet, or phone calls to aid learners in spelling, writing, and reading. Literacy difficulties can significantly impact confidence, job prospects, and overall well-being, especially in rural areas.

  • Promote awareness about available reading and writing assistance for adults and teens
  • Establish and maintain connections with community groups, libraries, schools, and local businesses
  • Distribute informational materials such as posters and flyers in community spaces
  • Facilitate connections between individuals and literacy support services that can positively transform lives

Why Volunteer With Us?
