Cleaning Services Worker I

Job Description

The Laundry Worker operates machinery to finish flatwork and tumble-dried items. This role is responsible for cleaning and maintaining designated work areas to ensure customer and client satisfaction. Duties also include folding, organizing, and delivering clean linens to operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive and sort soiled linens into appropriate categories.
• Operate an automatic cart washer and manage linen carts accordingly.
• Use flatwork ironers and small piece folders to fold linens according to set standards, handling specialty items as needed.
• Conduct quality control checks to maintain linen standards as defined by customers; refer concerns to supervisors.
• Label linen distribution carts properly and cover them before transport.
• Fold and store linens to uphold cleanliness protocols.
• Assist truck drivers in loading linens and materials.
• Notify supervisors regarding inventory levels of supplies.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and upkeep of the work area.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Prior experience is preferred in a high-volume laundry environment.
• Team player who fosters positive working relationships.
• Strong attention to detail is essential.
• Capable of multitasking and effective verbal communication.
• Ability to understand and apply workplace policies and procedures.
• Competent in operating laundry-related equipment.
• Effective organizational skills.

This position may involve physical labor such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, along with extended periods of walking and standing. Use of uniforms and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required.
