About the Role
The Mick George Group is actively seeking experienced Class 2 Drivers for their Milton Keynes location due to ongoing expansion. This position offers a chance to establish a career within a progressive and successful family-run company. As a Skip Driver, you will be responsible for collecting and delivering skips to commercial and residential locations within an approximate one-hour radius of the site.
Main Responsibilities
- Transporting skips to and from customer sites, waste transfer points, and depots.
- Loading and unloading skips using the vehicle’s hydraulic system, ensuring proper positioning and safe handling.
- Conducting thorough vehicle inspections before and after shifts, including walk-around checks and defect reporting.
- Adhering strictly to road safety laws and driving regulations including the Highway Code, Road Traffic Act, Working Time Directive, and Drivers Hours regulations.
- Securing all loads safely and ensuring compliance with weight and safety standards.
- Maintaining the cleanliness of the vehicle and providing exemplary customer service.
- Driving efficiently with good knowledge of local geography.
- Providing support for other duties as needed by the team.
Requirements
- Possession of a valid Category C (Class 2) driving license.
- Digital Tachograph Card holder.
- Driver Qualification Card (CPC) certification.
Working Hours and Compensation
- Hourly pay starting at £15.40, with potential annual earnings up to £41,000 based on a 50-hour workweek.
- Bonus opportunities up to £2,600 annually based on attendance and performance.
- Working Monday to Friday with start times between 6am and 7am, finishing as late as 6pm.
- Occasional Saturday shifts from 6am to 1pm.
- Average weekly hours: 50, with overtime possibilities.
