Currently, Verizon is modernizing its core network infrastructure, introducing innovative products and technologies, and we are seeking skilled Center Engineers specializing in Voice and Video to support this transformation.
This role involves engineering responsibilities and vendor management related to various network build projects. The engineer will manage multiple concurrent assignments throughout their lifecycle, particularly focusing on addressing technical challenges as they arise. Key engineering tasks include drafting installation instructions, updating engineering databases (such as ICON, CCP), equipment configuration, card and port assignments, power mapping, cable planning, rack and floor space allocation, and preparing detailed Bills of Materials (BOMs).
Key Responsibilities
- Generate necessary financial documentation including Shopping Carts, Telephone Equipment Orders (TEOs), and Project Supplements to manage budgeting.
- Handle multiple Capacity Creation Requests including deploying hardware, reconfigurations, decommissions, and supporting First Office Application (FOA) projects.
- Coordinate schedules, construction timelines, and project milestones by collaborating with stakeholders and third-party vendors.
- Identify, monitor, report, escalate, and resolve technical challenges encountered during the build processes.
- Maintain effective communication with project teams and Operations; conduct site surveys and quality inspections.
- Negotiate and manage project milestones completion with all involved parties, including external turf vendors.
- Oversee relationships with various service vendors ensuring pricing compliance, standards adherence, performing quality reviews, and managing follow-up remediation and periodic performance evaluations.
Qualifications and Skills
- Possess a bachelor’s degree or have equivalent relevant experience.
- Technical expertise in at least one of the following domains: SONET, DWDM, Long Haul Transport Systems, Backbone Routing and Switching systems, Physical Server Deployments, Voice Switching Platforms, or Telecom installation (hands-on or remotely directed).

Work Schedule and Location
This position follows a hybrid model combining remote work and scheduled office days specified by the manager, with an expected 37.5 working hours per week.
