Care Assistant

Overview

Prosper Fingal, which is part of the Prosper Group, supports adults with intellectual disabilities and autism throughout North County Dublin. The organisation works with the people it supports to open up opportunities, strengthen independence, and help them live connected and meaningful lives in their communities.

The team is preparing for new admissions from September, and this recruitment is for a panel of Care Assistants for future openings across North County Dublin. Exact sites and contracted hours are still being confirmed and will be shared with successful candidates when suitable roles arise.

Working arrangements include a range of hours and locations.

Salary is listed as €32,479 to €46,963 full-time equivalent, with pay adjusted pro rata according to contracted hours.

Role Summary

In this position, you will deliver person-centred support to adults with intellectual disabilities and autism. The role focuses on helping individuals with daily living, supporting personal growth, encouraging independence and inclusion, and enabling participation in social, recreational, and community-based activities.

Key Duties

• Offer tailored support that responds to each person’s needs and preferences.
• Assist people in developing everyday life skills and progressing in personal development.
• Encourage choice, independence, and active inclusion in the community.
• Support participation in leisure, social, and local activities.
• Help individuals work towards their personal goals.
• Develop respectful, positive relationships with the people supported, their families, and team members.
• Collaborate effectively with colleagues as part of a committed care team.

Requirements

• A QQI Level 5 qualification in Healthcare Support or a closely related field is required.
• A full, clean manual driving licence is necessary.
• Good communication and interpersonal abilities are important.
• A compassionate, person-first approach is essential.
• Previous experience supporting adults with intellectual disabilities would be an advantage.
• Applicants should be flexible and able to work well within a team.
