CAD Designer

Overview

Southeast Elevator is a leading residential elevator manufacturer based in Florida, delivering custom solutions to enhance home accessibility and luxury. They are seeking a proficient CAD Designer to join their expanding technical department. This position requires delivering precise 3D modeling and detailed production drawings in a time-sensitive environment, with work performed remotely.

Key Responsibilities

• Generate detailed 3D SolidWorks models and assemblies for residential elevator products and parts.
• Design exploded view drawings for installation instructions, maintenance manuals, and parts catalogs.
• Create accurate 2D production drawings with complete tolerancing and GD&T annotations.
• Use parametric modeling to configure diverse product models and customized options.
• Liaise regularly with Project Managers to align on design specifications and project schedules.
• Collaborate with Field Supervisors to ensure drawings accurately portray installation realities and constraints.
• Maintain a well-organized drawing library and comprehensive revision records.
• Support the quoting process by preparing CAD-based documentation.
• Consistently meet deadlines in a fast-paced production setting.

Qualifications and Experience

• Extensive experience working with SolidWorks including modeling, assemblies, drawings, and exploded views.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines with high accuracy.
• Availability during conventional business hours to facilitate real-time collaboration.
• Effective interpersonal communication skills to interact with Project Managers and Field Supervisors.
• Sound knowledge of manufacturing tolerances, materials, and mechanical assemblies.
• Skill in producing clear, professional documentation suitable for both technical and lay audiences.
• Preferred educational background includes an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Design, Engineering Technology, or similar fields — equivalent practical experience is also considered.
• Comfortable operating within a structured IT environment using VPN remote desktop access.

Desired Additional Skills

• Experience with DriveWorks CPQ software, particularly DriveWorks Solo or Pro, including rules and automation.
• Background in the elevator, lift, or vertical transport sector.
• Familiarity with custom manufacturing or configured-to-order product design.
• Exposure to PDM/PLM platforms for managing drawing and revision control.
• Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems such as NetSuite is advantageous.
