About the role

The NRMA Group is a member-owned Australian organisation with a strong focus on its people, customers and communities. Its operations span roadside assistance, EV charging, rewards, parks and resorts, car rental, ferries and cruises. In this position, you’ll help turn data into practical insights that support better decisions across the Roadside business.

This role is suited to an experienced analyst who is confident engaging with stakeholders, working through complex information, and delivering reporting and dashboard outcomes end to end while continuing to strengthen both technical and business capability in a collaborative setting.

Key responsibilities

  • Take ownership of recurring operational and performance reporting, using trusted and controlled data sources.
  • Create, update and support dashboards and visual outputs in BI and related tools, with a focus on clarity, usefulness and ease of interpretation.
  • Work with stakeholders to understand analytical needs and convert business questions into well-structured analysis.
  • Provide ad hoc analysis and insights that help guide decisions, investigations and improvement efforts.
  • Use strong visualisation principles so that outputs remain consistent, governed and backed by clear assumptions and definitions.
  • Keep data documentation current, including definitions, lineage and refresh timing.
  • Track data quality and reporting dependability, and contribute to issue triage and ongoing improvement.
  • Operate within sprint and backlog workflows, balancing priorities and delivering to a high standard.
  • Apply data governance, privacy and access requirements when working with sensitive or regulated data.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience in BI, analytics or data analysis, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strong SQL skills and experience working with complex datasets.
  • Ability to turn data into accurate visualisations suited to the audience and business context.
  • Proven experience building intuitive dashboards on BI platforms.
  • Strong analytical judgement and the ability to plan and carry out analysis independently.
  • Good communication skills, including the ability to explain findings and constraints to non-technical audiences.
  • High attention to detail and a strong focus on data quality, reliability and governance.
  • Ability to juggle competing priorities and deliver with guidance.
  • Desirable: experience using AI-enabled tools for analysis, automation or decision support.
  • Desirable: working knowledge of Python, R, Power Query/M, analytics engineering or CI/CD practices.
  • Desirable: experience in Agile or sprint-based delivery environments.
  • Qualification: a degree in Analytics, STEM, Information Systems or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Perks and benefits

  • Hybrid working arrangement: 2 days in the office and 3 days from home.
  • Ongoing learning support, paid training and development opportunities.
  • Flexible wellbeing benefits designed to help balance work and personal priorities.
  • Complimentary myNRMA Rewards membership with savings on groceries, movies, gift cards, gym memberships, attractions, restaurants and more.
  • Employee referral program with a potential bonus of up to $2,000.
  • Opportunities to grow, progress or relocate within the NRMA Group or across different locations.

Eligibility and hiring notes
