About Amach
Amach is a leading technology company headquartered in Dublin with remote teams across the UK and Europe. Since its founding in 2013, it has focused on addressing complexity in the aviation industry by delivering cloud, data, and AI-driven operational solutions to airlines. The company's mission is to enhance airlines' operational efficiency by optimizing resource allocation, reducing costs, and improving customer satisfaction.
Role Overview
We are looking for a Business Analyst to embed within our client's team, a prominent aviation operator based in Dublin. This role acts as a vital liaison between the technical teams (such as data engineers and developers) and non-technical stakeholders including operations managers, ground personnel, and executives. You will lead the elicitation and documentation of requirements, conduct workshops to clarify complex technical details into business terms, maintain traceability throughout the project lifecycle, and prioritize data initiatives linked to tangible business results.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and facilitate workshops and engagements with various stakeholders to capture, refine, and verify requirements across diverse audiences.
- Document these requirements comprehensively using structured business analysis approaches like process mapping, gap analysis, and user stories, supporting data and AI projects.
- Bridge communication between technical teams and business units, clearly communicating expectations, limitations, and progress during delivery phases.
- Utilize SQL and BI platforms (Power BI, Tableau) alongside structured and unstructured data to assess data integrity, define models, and convert raw data into actionable insights.
- Steer prioritization activities and maintain RAID logs to ensure alignment of data initiatives with business goals.
- Critically analyze data lineage and technical assumptions to identify gaps and prevent operational impacts.
- Collaborate intimately with client teams to pinpoint operational disruptions (e.g., flight scheduling, baggage handling, crew rostering) that data solutions can mitigate.
Required Experience
- Proven capability in organizing workshops and producing clear requirements documentation tailored for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Practical proficiency in SQL and BI tools like Power BI or Tableau.
- Strong knowledge of formal business analysis methods including process mapping, gap analysis, and crafting user stories.
- Experience with Agile and/or Waterfall project frameworks, including managing prioritization and RAID logs.
- Effective collaboration skills and ability to work embedded within client teams using a hybrid model (three days weekly onsite in Dublin).
Desirable Experience
- Familiarity with airline and airport operations such as turnaround processes, baggage handling, crew rostering, and gate allocation.
- Good understanding of relevant aviation regulations and compliance standards including EASA, IATA, safety management systems, and GDPR concerning passenger data.
- Previous experience within or tied to the aviation sector.
Benefits and Culture
- Opportunity to join a rapidly growing organization.
- Prospects for career growth and development.
- Support for continuous learning and professional advancement.
- Flexible working arrangements including hybrid work.
- Competitive remuneration commensurate with experience.
Equality and Inclusion
Amach is committed to equal opportunity employment, ensuring a respectful and inclusive workplace celebrating diversity. All employees and contractors are expected to uphold this ethos and contribute to a positive culture.
Data Protection
All personal data will be handled in compliance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), ensuring lawful, fair, transparent processing limited to relevant purposes, accuracy, security, and data retention aligned with legal guidelines.
