Bartender

About the Role

The Ritz-Carlton Abu Dhabi Grand Canal seeks a dedicated Bartender responsible for preparing and serving drinks according to specific recipes and maintaining the bar's cleanliness and stock. This role requires handling guest orders, managing payments, and ensuring security of liquor and supplies. The position demands standing, sitting, and physical activity involving lifting up to 50 pounds and working in varied spaces and surfaces.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare beverages following standardized recipes using correct measurements.
• Serve opened bottles of wine and champagne to guests professionally.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, including tables and service tools.
• Prepare fresh garnishes and stock necessary bar supplies like ice, glassware, and paper items.
• Transport supplies to bar setup locations and manage washing of glassware.
• Clear used wares promptly and anticipate replenishment needs to ensure smooth service.
• Handle all payment transactions, count cash bank at shift end, complete cashier reports, resolve discrepancies, and secure funds appropriately.
• Secure all alcoholic beverages and storage areas responsibly.
• Perform closing procedures and duties efficiently.
• Adhere strictly to all company safety and security policies, reporting any hazards or incidents to management.
• Maintain professional personal appearance and uphold confidentiality regarding company information.
• Greet and engage guests warmly, ensuring their needs are met and expressing genuine appreciation.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with colleagues and guests alike.
• Foster a positive work environment by supporting team goals and addressing coworker concerns respectfully.
• Maintain compliance with quality standards and verify information using various formats.
• Carry out other reasonable duties as assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.).
• At least one year of experience in a related role.
• No supervisory experience required.
• No professional licenses or certifications required.
