General Role

The barista is responsible for supporting the smooth and efficient operation of the bar, ensuring service aligns with hotel standards and achieves individual profitability.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional customer service that fulfills the brand promise at all times.
• Provide high-quality service to internal departments as needed.
• Handle guest and internal complaints courteously and efficiently, ensuring satisfactory resolutions.
• Maintain positive interactions and strong rapport with guests and colleagues.
• Ensure implementation of minimum brand standards and respond to consumer audit results by implementing necessary improvements.
• Collaborate closely and flexibly with outlet associates and other departments to support overall hotel success and guest satisfaction.
• Present menus and drinks lists, answer queries, and offer informed recommendations related to food, beverages, and service.
• Take and serve food and beverage orders following established procedures promptly.
• Operate the Micros Computer System proficiently.
• Maintain outlet equipment, food and beverage items in line with departmental operation manual standards.
• Promote beverage upselling to increase revenue.
• Report operational issues to team leaders or assistant managers for resolution.
• Manage par stocks of beverages and guest supplies accurately.
• Prepare mise-en-place according to operational requirements.
• Clear and reset counters or tables efficiently.
• Prepare and serve beverages according to hotel standards.
• Assist with outlet setup and decoration during special promotions or occasions.
• Store beverage stock properly with appropriate temperature control.
• Ensure glassware is thoroughly polished.
• Assist with bar stock inventory management and maintain accurate records.
• Request replenishment of beverage items as needed.
• Perform cashier duties, verifying cash and credit card payments accurately and adhering to finance policies.
• Support the implementation of Hyatt's People Philosophy by demonstrating company values and culture characteristics.
• Adhere strictly to hotel rules related to fire, hygiene, health, and safety.
• Stay updated with changes in food and beverage functions and industry trends.
• Attend required training sessions and meetings.
• Maintain motivation, competitiveness, accountability, and professional appearance at all times.
• Fully embrace Hyatt’s Food and Beverage Vision and Mission.
• Ensure punctuality and proper uniform appearance, including name badge display.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of recent experience in food, beverage, or café operations within the past two years.
• Proficient hands-on experience with commercial espresso machines, grinders, and café equipment.
• SMASRTSERVE certification.
• Food Handler Certification.
• Minimum 1 year of experience serving in fast-paced bar or restaurant environments.
• Basic knowledge of Arabic language is preferred.

Work Environment

Work is conducted in Food & Beverage outlets which include both indoor and outdoor settings.
