Aviation Project Manager

Overview

Our partnering firm is searching for an Aviation Project Manager based in the United States to lead intricate aviation infrastructure projects from inception through to completion. This role emphasizes technical leadership, strategic project management, and fostering key industry relationships.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct all phases of airport design and construction projects, including planning, environmental compliance, regulatory approvals, financial management, land acquisition, and phased execution.
• Act as the main liaison for clients, building and sustaining strong partnerships with airport sponsors, aviation agencies, and other stakeholders.
• Ensure projects are delivered successfully by managing timelines, budgets, and meeting client requirements.
• Provide mentoring and technical guidance to junior team members, supporting their skill development and capacity building.
• Conduct quality assurance and control on project designs, technical documentation, and contractual materials.
• Participate actively in business development, crafting proposals, identifying new opportunities, and contributing to expansion strategies.
• Collaborate with company leadership and internal teams to broaden aviation service offerings and enhance market presence.
• Offer construction phase support, attend client meetings, and conduct site visits as necessary.
• Represent the company at industry conferences and professional events, promoting aviation expertise and networking.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Possession of a Professional Engineer (PE) license is mandatory.
• A minimum of 8 years' experience in airport design and/or construction within private sector or governmental roles.
• Demonstrated success managing aviation projects, including oversight of airport design and construction administration.
• Strong knowledge of FAA advisory circulars relevant to airport design and FAA grant administration processes.
• Experience leading teams and mentoring staff, supporting their professional growth.
• Exceptional project management, organizational, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Advanced communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage effectively with clients and stakeholders.
• Proficient in computer software and project management tools.
• Self-driven, cooperative, and adept at handling complex projects within collaborative environments.
• Willingness and ability to travel for client meetings, site inspections, and industry functions.
• Must hold a valid driver's license and be able to safely operate a vehicle.
