Assistant Store Manager

Role Overview

Step into a leadership position at Shoe Carnival! We seek a reliable and energetic Assistant Store Manager to oversee daily store operations and support the team. This full-time position involves key holding responsibilities, leading by example, and fostering a fun, customer-focused store atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities

• Open and close the store as a key holder.
• Assist the General Manager in achieving sales objectives.
• Lead customer service initiatives and professionally handle resolutions.
• Train and mentor associates on store procedures and quality standards.
• Assign daily tasks and manage break schedules.
• Support visual merchandising and maintain store presentation.
• Conduct register overrides, manage safe/till counts, and perform cash reconciliation.
• Adhere to and promote loss prevention policies.

Candidate Requirements

• Strong communication skills combined with leadership capability.
• Excellent customer service with a positive demeanor.
• A minimum of two years' experience in retail or customer service roles.
• Supervisory experience is advantageous.
• Completion of Key Carrier Certification within 60 days of hire is mandatory.
• Flexible work schedule, including availability for nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Applicants must be 18 years or older due to keyholder responsibilities and equipment use.

Physical Demands

• Capable of standing, walking, and lifting objects up to 25 pounds.
• Comfortable with bending, reaching, and working on feet for extended periods.
