Overview
This position as an Assistant Psychologist is located within the Clinical Neuropsychology Service at the Central England Rehabilitation Unit (CERU), a nationally recognized level 1 neurorehabilitation center. The service is led by consultants and specializes in care for patients with acquired brain injuries, including stroke, requiring specialist inpatient neurorehabilitation.
Primary Responsibilities
- Carry out cognitive, mood, and behavioral assessments under supervision from qualified clinical psychologists.
- Deliver psychological interventions tailored to individuals and groups with neurological conditions like stroke to encourage adjustment and foster wellbeing.
- Gather and analyze behavioral data pertinent to clinical management and service enhancement, including audits and service delivery evaluations.
- Support clinical administrative activities that uphold service quality and operations, such as contributing to clinical audits.
Working Environment
The Assistant Psychologist will collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team composed of medical professionals, nursing staff, speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, and dietitians, operating under the guidance of clinical psychologists in the ward setting.
