Position Overview

We are partnering with a reputable New York City general contractor and developer specializing in affordable housing and occupied rehabilitation projects throughout the five boroughs. Due to expansion, they seek an Assistant Project Manager to support the execution of complex renovation and capital improvement endeavors within occupied residential buildings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing various affordable housing and occupied rehabilitation projects from preconstruction stages through project completion.
  • Coordinate effectively with subcontractors, consultants, property owners, and onsite teams to ensure smooth workflow.
  • Handle Requests for Information (RFIs), submittals, change orders, procurement, and comprehensive project documentation management.
  • Contribute to project scheduling, budget tracking, and cost management activities.
  • Monitor ongoing project progress to guarantee safety compliance, timely delivery, and adherence to budget constraints.
  • Participate in site meetings and collaborate with clients, architects, and design professionals.
  • Ensure projects comply with applicable New York City agency requirements, safety standards, and quality control protocols.

Candidate Qualifications

  • Minimum of two years assistant project management experience with a general contractor or construction manager.
  • Specific experience in affordable housing, occupied rehabilitation, capital improvement projects, or working with NYCHA, HPD, or comparable renovation initiatives.
  • Solid grasp of construction documentation, project scheduling software, and administrative processes.
  • Demonstrated strong communication and organizational abilities.
  • A degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related disciplines is preferred.
