Role Summary
We are seeking a skilled Architectural Technologist experienced in creating building models using Revit and preparing coordinated construction documents through project completion. The ideal candidate should collaborate well within teams, have a solid understanding of building science and the Ontario Building Code, and be able to work independently when needed. The position requires regular presence in the office with flexibility for up to two remote days per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage multiple projects alongside team members and consultants from design development through to construction completion.
- Prepare design, permit, and construction drawings.
- Identify and resolve technical challenges.
- Participate in client and stakeholder presentations, occasionally including public forums.
- Assist with planning, permitting, and approval processes.
- Coordinate documentation with other disciplines such as engineering consultants.
Qualifications
- 7 to 10 years of relevant experience.
- Post-secondary diploma in Architectural Technology.
- Strong working knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD.
- In-depth familiarity with the Ontario Building Code, especially Part 3, and ability to discuss code matters with building officials, clients, and contractors.
- Comprehensive understanding of building materials, construction assemblies, and detailing.
- Effective collaborator with clients, colleagues, and consultants.
- Ability to manage deadlines and prioritize multiple projects.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat.
Preferred Assets
- Valid driver's license and vehicle for travel to job sites; mileage is reimbursed for out-of-town sites.
- Experience with construction administration or general project review.
- Hands-on experience on construction sites.
Compensation and Benefits
Salary ranges from $70,000 to $85,000 annually. A comprehensive benefits package becomes available after successfully completing a three-month probation period.
