Aerospace Systems Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking experienced Aerospace Systems Engineers to support the U.S. Space Forces mission by contributing expertise to the Space Systems Command (SSC) directorates. This role is based in El Segundo, California, focusing on sustaining and enhancing government space-based and ground command and control systems vital for national defense.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute integrated product support in alignment with Air Force Instruction 63-101/20-101 and other pertinent standards, covering all 12 Integrated Product Support (IPS) elements.
• Assist the government in developing Statements of Work (SOW), Contract Data Requirements Lists (CDRLs), and proposal instructions for Space Sensing program Requests for Proposals (RFPs).
• Provide expertise in technical evaluations related to RFPs on behalf of the Product Support Division.
• Engage in Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and program meetings to offer product support for current and future space development systems.
• Demonstrate familiarity with acquisition and sustainment planning documents such as Life Cycle Sustainment Plans (LCSP), Source of Repair Assignment (SORA), Transition Support Plans (TSP), and Product Support Business Case Analyses (PS/BCA).
• Manage and track Government Furnished Property (GFP) utilizing the GFP Module within the Procurement Integrated Enterprise Environment (PIEE), including establishing user roles, DoDAACs, and submitting required forms.
• Apply knowledge of federal regulations and policies regarding government property management, including FAR, DFARS, DoDI, and AFI directives.
• Ensure contract readiness for Financial Improvement and Audit Readiness (FIAR) reviews by maintaining Key Support Documentation (KSD) such as compliant GFP attachments, documentation of GFP decisions, GFP clauses, and archived contractor receipts.
• Handle the delivery and transfer procedures of Contractor Acquired Property between contracts in accordance with defense acquisition regulations.

Candidate Profile and Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physics, mathematics, or related technical discipline.
• At least 14 years of experience in systems integration and systems engineering or equivalent expertise.
• Proven ability to lead combined hardware/software and space/ground integration efforts.
• Experience with model-based system engineering tools and lifecycle systems architecture.
• Familiarity with agile development methodologies and applying Agile and/or DevOps processes.
• Possession of an active TS/SCI security clearance is mandatory.
