Role Overview

The Account Director will oversee strategic planning, management, and support for multiple client accounts and brands, ensuring the successful delivery of all project deliverables. This position requires fostering strong client relationships, driving business growth, and facilitating collaboration across teams.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead client relations as the main contact, developing and maintaining trust-based, collaborative partnerships.
  • Actively seek opportunities to expand client business and align deliverables with brand goals and client strategies.
  • Travel occasionally to client sites to strengthen relationships and rapport.
  • Coordinate project workflows involving internal teams, clients, and client Medical Legal Review (MLR) teams.
  • Define and finalize project briefs with clear objectives approved by clients.
  • Provide strategic direction and review quality and alignment of agency outputs with client expectations.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Client Service to allocate appropriate resources for projects.
  • Anticipate and resolve project issues proactively.
  • Lead or support strategy meetings, status updates, financial reconciliations, partner coordination, and project reporting.
  • Manage the financial aspects of projects, including support with Statements of Work (SOW), forecasting, accruals, and invoicing, ensuring on-budget and on-time delivery.
  • Maintain comprehensive understanding of each client’s business and disease states involved.
  • Keep abreast of industry trends in rare diseases and patient engagement to offer innovative solutions.
  • Contribute patient and content strategy insights gleaned from patient and caregiver perspectives.
  • Participate in new business efforts to grow the agency's portfolio.
  • Support operational improvements by updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and ensuring adherence to internal processes.
  • Champion client service excellence by fostering cohesive cross-functional collaboration.
  • Oversee adherence to adverse event (AE) reporting processes, including team training, alignment with client-specific requirements, and direct reporting as needed.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 5 to 7 years of agency client management experience, preferably in biopharmaceutical patient marketing.
  • Strong leadership and organizational capabilities.
  • Confident managing both client and internal teams.
  • Excellent presentation, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • High empathy with passion for patient and caregiver advocacy exceeding industry standards.

Compensation

Salary range offered is $125,000 to $140,000 annually.
