Role overview
This position supports store operations in a retail environment, with a strong focus on driving sales, protecting assets, and helping ensure smooth day-to-day execution. The role also involves assisting with associate supervision, training, scheduling support, and adherence to company standards for presentation, inventory control, and professional conduct.
Sales and customer service
- Help improve sales results by delivering helpful, effective customer service.
- Work toward meeting or surpassing company targets for individual performance metrics.
- Provide regular, documented feedback on associate sales performance, highlighting strengths and development areas while staying aligned with company goals.
- Follow current visual presentation standards, including merchandising, signage, and store cleanliness.
- Maintain a polished appearance that matches the dress code policy.
Expense control and store operations
- Safeguard company property in accordance with LIDS retail policies.
- Help build store schedules that maintain proper coverage while staying within wage control guidelines.
- Manage inventory according to policy, including receiving goods, transfers, price changes, and product counts.
- Complete required documentation and maintain records in line with company policies and applicable state and federal laws.
- Open and close the store when needed, following the procedures in the operations manual.
- Follow all LIDS policies, procedures, and operational standards.
Team supervision and support
- Take part in LIDS training programs and work toward assigned sales and task goals with regular follow-up.
- Support recruitment and training of store staff on operating procedures and expectations.
- Encourage team compliance with company rules, including protection of inventory, cash, and other assets.
- Step in to perform subordinate duties when necessary.
- Communicate effectively with employees across all levels of the organization.
- Handle other assigned responsibilities as needed.
Required knowledge and skills
- High school diploma or an equivalent qualification, plus at least one year of related experience.
- Proven ability to drive sales while keeping losses low.
- Strong interpersonal abilities and clear, professional verbal communication.
- Comfort using a computer and related software applications.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to climb ladders and work with hands above shoulder level.
- Capacity to stand for as much as 100% of the working time.
- Ability to work independently without close supervision.
