About the Internship

Starlit Ability Enhancement Services is a for-profit organization dedicated to providing psychological support to children with special needs such as autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, and Down syndrome in Mumbai and nearby locations. The company offers both in-school and one-on-one home counseling using evidence-based intervention techniques tailored to promote appropriate behavior in social and academic environments. Recognized as an 'Innovative Startup' under the Government of India's 'Startup India Program,' this internship offers an intensive, steep learning experience for those eager to gain hands-on expertise in developmental psychology and behavioral interventions.

Primary Responsibilities

• Deliver personalized support to children diagnosed with Autism, ADHD, and other related conditions within school environments.
• Address multiple developmental areas including behavior management, emotional regulation, social communication, and academic progress using scientifically supported methods.
• Develop and implement individualized goals while maintaining detailed observation logs to monitor progress.
• Regularly communicate daily updates on the child's progress to their parents.
• Compile monthly reports assessing growth across key developmental domains.
• Attend comprehensive initial training sessions supervised by expert psychologists.
• Conduct home-based remedial sessions focusing on child development areas such as behavior modification, cognitive and sensory skills improvement, emotional development, social skills, and everyday living competencies.
• Establish trust and rapport with children by adapting to their pace and needs.
• Create and execute customized intervention strategies targeting emotional, behavioral, and developmental targets.
• Coordinate with senior psychologists for case mentoring, supervision, and reflective practice.
• Develop independence in executing sessions while receiving ongoing guidance from senior mentors.

Eligibility Criteria

• Candidates must be available for a full-time internship at the office.
• The internship start date should fall between August 1, 2026, and September 5, 2026.
• Applicants must commit to a six-month duration internship.
• Possession of relevant skills and keen interest in psychology and child development is essential.
