Internship Overview
Join X1 Race LLP as a 3D Game Artist intern, focusing on designing assets, props, and environmental elements primarily for racing games involving cars, bikes, and personal watercraft. This fully remote internship offers hands-on experience in creating optimized 3D assets suitable for mobile and prototype game environments, particularly in the racing genre.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop 3D game assets including vehicles, props, obstacles, environment components, collectibles, track elements, and background objects.
- Design and texture low-polygon or optimized assets appropriate for mobile gaming or prototypes.
- Contribute to racing game-specific assets such as jetskis, water obstacles, ramps, buoys, checkpoints, barriers, islands, floating objects, and race track features.
- Create clean UV layouts, texture maps, materials, and simple lighting previews for 3D models.
- Export final assets into game-ready formats like FBX, OBJ, GLB, or formats compatible with Unity engine.
- Ensure meticulous organization of naming conventions, folder architecture, version control, and project files.
- Generate style guides, mood boards, and asset sheets aligned with the game's visual direction.
- Collaborate closely with game design and development teams to ensure assets meet gameplay requirements and performance constraints.
Candidate Eligibility
- Applicants must be available to work remotely.
- Availability to commence internship between July 22, 2026, and August 26, 2026.
- Commitment to a two-month internship duration.
- Candidates with relevant skills and interests in game asset creation.
- Preference for Computer Science Engineering students; fresh graduates seeking entry into the industry are welcome.
Required Skills and Experience
- Proficiency in 3D modeling software like Blender, Autodesk Maya, Autodesk 3ds Max, or similar.
- Ability to create clean, optimized, and game-ready 3D assets.
- Strong understanding of low-poly modeling, UV unwrapping, texturing, and basic material setup.
- Capability to interpret briefs, reference images, or style guides to produce assets.
- Competence in exporting assets correctly for use in game engines such as Unity.
- A portfolio demonstrating 3D models, props, vehicles, characters, environments, or other game-related assets.
- Motivated to build a career in 3D design, game art, and asset creation.
Compensation and Benefits
Stipend ranges between INR 20,000 and 35,000 per month during the internship tenure.
