Role overview

Asuria Training is seeking a Youth Mentor to support young people in reaching their employment ambitions. Based in the Ballarat office, this position is focused on helping participants build confidence, progress toward sustainable work, and receive practical guidance tailored to their needs.

What you will do

In this role, you will work with youth participants to help them move into and remain in meaningful employment. You will need to balance participant support with business outcomes and performance targets.

• Work toward specific targets and KPI expectations.
• Deliver personalised coaching, job placement support, and follow-up assistance to your client group.
• Assess each participant’s individual employment barriers and needs.
• Partner with employers to connect suitable candidates with opportunities.

What you will bring

The ideal candidate will have experience in roles that involve people support, service delivery, or recruitment-related work. Success in this position also depends on adaptability, strong communication, and a detail-oriented approach.

• Prior experience in Employment Services is highly valued.
• Background in customer service, sales, contact centre work, or recruitment will be an advantage.
• Clear communication, interpersonal strength, and flexibility are important.
• Strong administrative ability and comfort using IT systems are required.

Mandatory requirements

You will need to be able to work with empathy and respect while still focusing on achieving strong outcomes. Before starting, you must provide a valid Police Check and Working with Children Check. A myGovID must also be set up so you can access government data linked to the role.
