About Finning
Finning Canada is seeking experienced Warranty Technicians to join their team in Alberta or British Columbia. This permanent position offers a Monday to Friday schedule, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, totaling 40 hours per week. The salary ranges from $75,000 to $102,700 annually, plus bonuses and benefits starting on the first day of employment.
Role Overview
The Warranty Technician will play a vital role in supporting service operations by thoroughly reviewing repair documentation, auditing work orders for compliance, and managing warranty claims with equipment manufacturers and suppliers. This position is suited for individuals with strong problem-solving skills, an aptitude for technical details, and who thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate equipment warranty coverage and assess claim eligibility.
- Audit service work orders and repair documents to ensure adherence to warranty standards.
- Prepare, submit, and monitor warranty and goodwill claims with manufacturers and suppliers.
- Investigate discrepancies in warranty registrations and facilitate resolutions.
- Serve as the liaison between service teams, suppliers, and manufacturers concerning warranty issues.
- Offer support and guidance to branch personnel regarding warranty policies and claim procedures.
- Assist in implementing new warranty protocols and best practices.
- Ensure that qualifying repair expenses are charged appropriately to warranty or policy accounts.
- Return incorrect charges for amendment when necessary.
Candidate Qualifications
- Experience in warranty administration, service operations, equipment maintenance, or related areas.
- Knowledge of technical failure analysis and repair documentation procedures.
- Exceptional attention to detail and record auditing capabilities.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage time effectively.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Capability to handle high workloads and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
Preferred Experience
- Background in heavy, construction, or mining equipment industries.
- Familiarity with warranty claim processes and manufacturer warranty programs.
- Understanding of service department operations and work order management systems.
- Mechanical aptitude and product knowledge related to equipment.
